Is Media really my friend? :)


Hi everyone! tonight i want to share my personal opinion and experience based on Media communication. 

I think social media is a very useful tool for certain things. For example, it allows scientists to quickly share ideas and comments and news with the fellow researchers, but also the rest of the world. It’s also very useful for keeping in touch with people, both professionally and socially.

However, I think we all need to be  careful and how to use it with caution. Employers have been known to check people’s face book profiles when making job offers so important to keep an eye on what people can see! I personally think it’s also important to keep a healthy balance between the real world and the virtual world on social media  if you’re not careful you can end up spending all your time on social media websites and not actually interact with the real world, which is a shame as I think the real world is much more interesting!

I haven't had any bad experience or reference  yet in social media. I believe that using media the correct way is very important to prevent consequences later on. some examples that i always use while using media are accepting friends that i know also not chatting with persons that i don't know. if you use media properly off course media can become your friend.For myself media is definitely my friend, i love media!

    Since you on a personal level have never experienced the bad side of social media, do you know anyone who has been affected?

      To answer your question I have met people who have had bad experiences on social media. These experiences range from bullying to having photos be taken and edited for bad intentions. Others have resorted to staying away completely from social media because they were being stalked. I personally have stayed away from certain social media sites because I discovered that someone was making multiple accounts using my name and photo and impersonating me.

      Thank you for your answer. Personally I do not know anyone that has gone through this. The risks certainly are there, but perhaps it is not as common as most people think?

    Thanks Shandy for being positive about social media. Very few people can speak like you do. I guess this is as a result of being careful on social media. Keep being positive and practice being careful and hopefully you stay clear of bad experiences on social media.
